For locals as well as for tourists, the English Garden in Munich, the capital of Bavaria in Germany, has become an important place for relaxation and leisure activities such as walking, riding a bike, eating and drinking, sunbathing.

Hofgarten

Located next to the Odeonsplatz, the Hofgarten is the most central garden of Munich and therefore quite suitable for relaxation after sightseeing or shopping in the city center.

New Botanical Garden

In 1914, the area next to the Nymphenburg Castle in the west of Munich became the New Botanical Garden of Munich.

Nymphenburg Park

As the palace and the park Nymphenburg belong together, the Nymphenburg Park is treated under castles.

Old Botanical Garden

The Old Botanical Garden is also located in the city center near the central station and therefore quite suitable for having a break after shopping and sightseeing as well.

Olympic Park

In summer 1972, the XX. Olympic Games were carried out in Munich that had hardly any sports facilities until then. For this purpose, the Olympic Park was created between 1966 and 1972 in the north of Munich on a barren area - the Oberwiesenfeld - that had only been used for military exercises and as sports airport before.

Tierpark Hellabrunn - Munich Zoo

The "Tierpark Hellabrunn" is Munich's zoo. Founded in 1911 at the banks of the river Isar in the Munich area "Thalkirchen", the Munich zoo is rather a natural park and one of the first zoos following the concept of animals living in their natural environment.
